This project consisted of the renovation and expansion of a Secondary School located in Mem Martins, in the municipality of Sintra, as part of the 3rd phase of the school renovation program that “Parque Escolar”, E.P. (Ministry of Education) developed at that time. The pre-existing model of buildings was the pavilion, which was largely renovated and expanded in this intervention, in order to serve a universe of around 1600 students, 160 teachers, and 60 employees.

Given budget (extremely frugal) and time constraints, industrial technology solutions were designed, supported by national production, fulfilling, yet, with demanding requirements from the point of view of comfort and safety. In the architectural composition and disposition of the several blocks, however, a more traditional model was followed, thus seeking to humanize the various spaces of this educational establishment.
