Herdade do Milreu is an agricultural property with about 400ha, located at the eastern edge of the municipality of Alandroal, facing the Alqueva dam on the Guadiana river. On this property, there are several construction centers for agricultural use and housing to support these activities.

The works have consisted in the renovation, expansion, and, sometimes, reconstruction of these various structures, in several phases, using traditional technologies and materials, respecting the models of popular architecture in this region of Alentejo.
